About the event
A new report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concludes that there is a strong risk of climate crises beginning as early as 2040. It further concludes that the pathways for avoiding climate crises are limited and unlikely to succeed. Fortunately, bipartisan groups of Senators and Representatives recently introduced the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act in both chambers of Congress. If passed, this bill would alone would make it possible for the United States to meet the challenge described by the IPCC, that of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2040. In this presentation, Dr. Rucinski will describe what is in the Energy Innovation Act, how it will lead to reduced emissions, its effects on the economy, and chances of its passage. Join us!
